I think everyone to a certain extent judges people by their outward appearance. But I don't think it's imporant. They're just clothes...
2 Do you think Japanese society puts an importance on clothing when judging other people from another country?
This may give away who I am, but... I remember being so afraid of what people would think of me based on how I dressed before coming here. I've had to change the way I dress to try and fit in the best I could. I bought all new clothes before arriving.
3. What colors are you wearing now? Do they reflect your mood?
I'm wearing black and white now. I'm not sure if they reflect my mood or not. If black is sad, and white is happy, does that make me bipolar?
Next week we will discuss friends, please prepare by answering the following questions:
1. What are some subjects that you will never discuss with a friend?
I would usually never discuss any politics or religion with my friends. Usually with some of my friends, we share very different options so it is better for us not to discuss them and just have fun.
2. Do you have different friends for different parts of your life? If so, how are they different to you? Do you talk about different things? Go to different places? Give me some examples.
Most of my friends now I've made in college (I've only kept 3 or so friends from high school), and we do almost everything together. There really aren't different groups amongst our friends, we all go out together and talk together. We're like a big family.

Homework #2
1.Death and Funerals:
a. Do you have any international friends or a host family? If so, how would you express your condolences to them if a family member died? If not, then how would you express consolences to an American host family if their Grandmother died?
I do have international friends. If a family member of theirs had died, I would first tell them how sorry I was for their lose and would offer to be there for them if they needed someone to talk to.
b. Have you ever been to a foreign funeral?
I have not, and I hope the situation never arises that I would need to.
2. The language of Clothes
a.Why are Japanese designer label crazy? Why is what you wear so important?
Perhaps owning and wearing expensive and nice-looking clothing and accessories not only gives the person a good image, but makes the person feel more confident or important. I wouldn't know, I dont own anything designer.
b.What does “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” mean to you?
That phrase, to me, means that a person's outward appearence may not reflect who they are. A person doesn't have to wear designer brand labels to be imporant or valuable.

I believe to a certain extent, the idea of 'wrapping' can be validated. But I also believe that perhaps the website took the idea and ran with it a little. I think the idea of wrapping in terms of building construction went a little far. In terms of what can be called 'wrapping', though, I think that a person's personality can be a sort of wrapping. I, for example, am very shy in public, but it isn't who I am exactly. Once I get to know someone and feel comfortable, my real personality shows.

I think you keep going, but where I don't know. I think I'll find out once I die. Hopefully it will be with my loved ones.
