1.Death and Funerals:
a. Do you have any international friends or a host family? If so, how would you express your condolences to them if a family member died? If not, then how would you express consolences to an American host family if their Grandmother died?
I do have international friends. If a family member of theirs had died, I would first tell them how sorry I was for their lose and would offer to be there for them if they needed someone to talk to.
b. Have you ever been to a foreign funeral?
I have not, and I hope the situation never arises that I would need to.
2. The language of Clothes
a.Why are Japanese designer label crazy? Why is what you wear so important?
Perhaps owning and wearing expensive and nice-looking clothing and accessories not only gives the person a good image, but makes the person feel more confident or important. I wouldn't know, I dont own anything designer.
b.What does “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” mean to you?
That phrase, to me, means that a person's outward appearence may not reflect who they are. A person doesn't have to wear designer brand labels to be imporant or valuable.

Hi, I do agree with your opinion that Japanese wear brand-name clothes for getting some confidences. I also think they may be pretentious. I wonder they may exress their good points through their appearances. How do you think?
I do think that people can express their good points through their outward appearance. Some of my friends can sew their own clothes, so I think that shows that they are talented :)
Hello! I agree with your opinion about question 1. If the person pass away, I think to only say "Try noy to get depressed." I want to wait until host family speak to me.
All fo your comments are great. I believe that a person shold not be judged by their clothes. I think I am a nice person, but do not have the money to dress the way I want. I would love to accessorize, but find the cost to layer clothes etc. are out of my budget.
